Wellness in the Garden Community Event and Fundraiser

Be sure to join us in the Earthwise Garden for our May Wellness in the Garden Fundraiser event, taking place on May 14 from 10 am- 2 pm. This family-friendly community event will celebrate gardens and their impact on our well-being, our communities, and our environment. There will be wellness workshops, chef demos, a plant sale and farm cart, and more! From May 9-14, we will run a silent auction with proceeds supporting Earthwise Society’s community education and food security programs.

Silent Auction

We have some amazing local prize packages up for grabs in our Wellness in the Garden Silent Auction. Treat yourself, or choose that perfect gift for someone special! Bidding will open on Monday, May 9th at 12 pm and run until 4 pm on Saturday, May 14th.  Be sure to attend the Wellness in the Garden Event in the Earthwise Garden on May 14th to bid on four special prizes that will ONLY be open for bidding at the event!  CLICK HERE to view silent auction prize packages and place bids!

Wellness Workshop Schedule:

Guest can enjoy several health and wellness workshops on the day of the event. Spaces are limited and pre-registration is required to secure your spot! To register, please email info@earthwisesociety.bc.ca

10- 10:30 am | Sensory Garden Walk | Cost : $10

Walk, learn, engage your senses and connect with nature during this therapeutic walk around the Earthwise garden with Registered Horticultural Therapist Katie McGillivray. The tour will include various therapeutic activities that you can practice on your own, as well as a sensory plant for you to take home and enjoy in your garden!

10:30-11 am | Food Gardens 101 | Cost $10 
Come to this quick chat with Farmer Matt about the basics of growing your own food in your yard or on your patio. We will cover how to start your seeds, the best ways to care for your plants and some tips to ensure a good harvest.  Participants will take home some kale, arugula, and carrot seeds to help get their home gardens started! 

12:30-1 pm | Herbal Bath Salts | Cost $15
Join Registered Horticultural Therapist Katie McGillivray to make a bag of your own herbal bath salts. Take them home for some well-deserved relaxation!

1-1:30 pm | DIY Linen Spray | Cost: $15 
Registered Horticultural Therapist Katie McGillivray will show you how to make your own natural herbal linen spray. Spritz it on your laundry and towels for instant freshness!

Chef Demos 

Long-time partner Chef Derek Bothwell will be on site serving up the best of the season! Chef demos are free to attend, and registration is not required. Samples will be available to purchase at the event.
