Johnny Never

Introducing Johnny Never!

We are thrilled to introduce East Coast blues artist Johnny never as our featured musician for our Dinner on the Farm event!

From his bio:

Johnny Never is a critically acclaimed finger-style, Delta and Piedmont Blues artist based in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States.  Critics and fans say that during performances Johnny channels the deep rooted spirit and soul of the original Delta and Piedmont blues artists. Though his music is inspired by the old time blues masters, he is no mere mimic. Critics praise his music as original and refreshing. His interpretations of vintage blues standards is as original as it is honest to the spirit of the source, and his original compositions on standard and slide guitar hit the mark, time and time again.

Johnny is a regular guest at music venues and festivals in Eastern United States and Canada. He performs both solo and with accompaniment, most notably with John Colgan-Davis, a veteran blues harmonica player who performed and recorded with Bonnie Raitt, with Tennessee bluesman Sparky Rucker and with The John Cadillac Band in the 1970s and 80s. In performances for venues large and small, he plays an entertaining mix of Vintage Blues, peppered with popular jazz standards from the 1920s, 30s, and 40s, as well as timeless originals that have gotten radio play around the world.  Johnny was a quarter finalist in the IBC in 2014. In 2011, Johnny and his band were the only local band to perform in a Philadelphia Folksong Society concert featuring Guy Davis and other national acts, in honor of the 100th birthday of Robert Johnson. His latest, critically acclaimed album, Blue Delta,  has  been enthusiastically received on radio and internet blues stations around the world, from California to Congo, New York to New Dehli, and has gotten rave reviews.
