Dig into Spring! | Earthwise Garden, Delta | April 22, 12 – 1 pm | April 26, 11 am – 12 pm | FREE
Join us on Earth Week to learn all about getting your spring food garden started! You’ll also discover how your garden can make a difference in the community through our Don’t Mow Grow Victory Gardens program. Learn how to prepare your soil for organic gardening, how to select seeds for early season crops, and how to start seeds. Those who would like to participate in the Victory Garden program will take home a free starter kit with seeds. Register for your choice of two sessions!
Join Earthwise volunteer and bee expert, Dave Robinson, for a 3-part workshop series all about Mason bees, our gentle native pollinators. Learn how you can support them in your own garden! Each session will provide valuable insights and practical tips on Mason bee care, progress tracking, and harvesting.
April 19: Introduction to the Earthwise Mason Bee Program – Learn the basics of Mason bees and how they can benefit your garden.
May 17: Mid-Season: Progress and Troubleshooting – Check in on the Earthwise Mason bees! Ask questions as we troubleshoot any challenges, and learn how to ensure a successful season.
June 21: End of Season: Wind-Up and Harvesting – Reflect on the season’s progress, assess the results, and learn about the harvesting process!
All sessions are by donation and take place at 1 pm at the Earthwise Garden in Delta. Register by emailing info@earthwisesociety.bc.ca. Don’t miss this opportunity to help support these important pollinators in your garden! Proceeds support the Earthwise Mason Bee Program.
Orchard Spring Start-up at the Agassiz Community Farm | April 29, 12:30-4 pm
Join Earthwise Society and Agassiz Harrison Community Services for a community work bee to kick off the spring season in the orchard. Help us care for the fruit trees and connect with fellow volunteers. Tasks include weeding and mulching the base of the trees. Everyone welcome! To register, email community@earthwisesociety.bc.ca

Volunteer Celebration Events
April 27-May 3 is National Volunteer Week, a time to celebrate the power and impact of volunteer efforts across Canada. At Earthwise, we are deeply grateful to our incredible volunteers, whose dedication in the garden, on the farms, with our food security programs, and at community events has had an immeasurable impact on our organization and the community. To celebrate and show our appreciation, we’re hosting two special volunteer events. We would also like to extend a warm invitation to anyone interested in learning more about volunteering at Earthwise to join us! Meet our staff and volunteer team, explore opportunities, and take stroll through the garden.
Delta Volunteers: Join us on May 3rd from 2-3 pm in the beautiful Earthwise Garden for an evening of gratitude, light refreshments, and community.
Agassiz Volunteers: On May 4th from 2-3 pm, join us for a fun, family-friendly drop-in event where you’ll learn about volunteer opportunities for the year ahead, provide input on new activities for our 2025 education programs, and enjoy some light refreshments!

Garden Buddies Meetups
Do you know someone who loves to garden and would enjoy participating in shared gardening activities with a new friend? This winter, we trained an eager new team of Garden Buddy mentors, and they can’t wait to get started gardening with seniors in the community! The Meet and Greet sessions offer an opportunity for seniors and mentors to connect in the Teaching Garden and do some fun and creative gardening activities. Earthwise Farm Cart
We offer a wide selection of seasonal produce freshly harvested from the Earthwise Farm, specializing in unusual and heirloom varieties. Our produce is harvested just hours before it is sold, providing the tastiest, most nutritious produce possible. The Farm Cart is located at the Earthwise Garden in Boundary Bay and is open on Saturdays from 10 am – 3 pm, from spring through fall.

What’s Buzzing Fundraiser
Earthwise Society is excited to be teaming up with Tsawwassen Mills to celebrate honeybees and the critical services they provide. Organic Gardening 101 | Earthwise Garden, Delta | April 5, 11 am- 12 pm | FREE
This workshop will introduce you to the basics of starting your own organic garden. We’ll explore what organic gardening is all about, covering key topics such as soil health, environmental impacts, health benefits, garden design, selecting crops, and starting seeds at home.
Family Picnic at Earthwise Agassiz | March 27 | 10 – 11 am | Free, no registration required
Join us at Earthwise Agassiz for our Family Picnic program, hosted in partnership with the Fraser-Cascade School District. Families will enjoy a guided trail walk to explore the early signs of spring in the forest and on the farm. This event is open to all ages, and children must be accompanied by a caregiver. Healthy snacks and drinks, provided by the Fraser-Cascade School District’s ‘Feeding Futures’ program, will be available to enjoy onsite or take home.

This popular homegrown community event is back! Join us in the Garden as we celebrate the diversity and beauty of the not-so-humble tomato. This summer we are bringing Earthwise EcoTours to families! Join our education team for guided walks along Earthwise trails, dive in with hands-on activities and make new friends! This program is designed for ages 5-12 and their family members. Younger and older siblings are welcome to join! A parent or guardian is required to be in attendance. The Cost is $25 per session for families up to 4 people, $5 per additional family member.

There is an alien species trying to take over wetlands and streams at Earthwise Agassiz! Join Earthwise Staff and volunteers to tackle invasive Himalayan Balsam once and for all. This is a family friendly volunteer event, everyone is welcome. The Balsam Bash aims to bring together the Agassiz-Harrison community to tackle Himalayan Balsam, learn about invasive species, and celebrate our freshwater ecosystems! Families will have the opportunity to explore Earthwise Society’s freshwater ecosystems with our friendly experts before getting to work pulling Himalayan balsam. Pruning Workshop at Earthwise Agassiz | March 23, 10 am – 1 pm | Cost: $50 ($40 for members)
Join the Earthwise experts and learn the basics of pruning! This hands-on workshop will discuss proper pruning practices for trees and shrubs, with a strong focus on fruit trees. You’ll learn tree anatomy and how and why to prune. We’ll also explore pruning tools and how to maintain them. Bring your pruning tools along so we can sharpen and maintain them together!
